Union Station Kansas City is one of the finest Amtrak stations in the country. If you are departing from there, you’ll want to arrive early to check it out. Amtrak does not use Union Station in St. Louis, so don’t make the mistake of going there, trains depart from the much smaller Gateway station. There is a small grill to get food and a small first class lounge at Gateway station.
